About the Talk
Real-Time Design: Bridging Architecture and Interactive Worlds

In this talk, Simon Blakeney explores how real-time technology is transforming the way architecture is designed, visualised, and experienced. Drawing on his work at Epic Games, he demonstrates how tools originally built for the gaming industry are now enabling architects to move beyond static representations into fully interactive, immersive environments. The talk highlights the shift towards real-time workflows, where designers can iterate faster, collaborate more effectively, and communicate ideas with greater clarity to clients and stakeholders. Simon also reflects on the broader implications of this convergence between architecture and gaming, suggesting a future where the boundaries between digital and physical space continue to blur, opening up entirely new ways of designing and experiencing the built environment.
